A Dream Deferred @skyzoo

A Dream Deferred, Skyzoo  2012

A Dream Deferred doesn't necessarily follow the lines of the Theo vs. JJ EP released this summer with respect to interludes and the overall message, but it always shows up in Skyzoo's lyrics.  The album starts off with Jill Scott and doesn't disappoint with guest appearances.  Talib Kweli and Freeway are the only featured mc's, but Raheem DeVaughn, Jill Scott, Jessy Wilson and Jared Evan are the featured vocalists.  Familiar producers establish Skyzoo's established style, but it doesn't push ahead as much as his lyrics do.  Skyzoo is definitely next up in line of the Brooklyn-bred mc's though.  It's only a matter of time before everyone knows Skyzoo's name. A funny side note about Skyzoo is that I originally heard that he was dropping this album from him on Nostrand Avenue in Brooklyn. I was surprised to see him walking down the street but it happens all the time in NYC.
