RA-NYC Presents Culture Customized: SneakerPimps NYC 11/11/11

Sneaker Pimps is the worlds largest touring sneaker hip-hop lifestyle exhibition featuring over 1500 pairs of rare, limited edition, vintage, celebrity signed, artists collaborated sneakers and a collection of sneaker inspired artwork, fashion and photography. The tour also features live street art installations, live skateboarding demonstrations, street basketball competitions and live hip-hop and rock performances by some of the world's foremost recording artists.

For the second straight year, RA-NYC has participated in Sneaker Pimps NYC. This year, Ronin focused on the experience of the show and rather than setting up a booth.  An impressive list of performers hit the stage at Sneaker Pimps NYC 2011.  It took a little while for the crowd to warm up (or for the liquor to do its work), but by the end of the night, it was live in Irving Plaza, Union Square.  Willis Freeman, Blake Carrington, Kris Kasanova, Nyemiah Supreme, Siya, Bizz-E BlazE, Phil Ade, Stally and Kenrick Lamar all performed in the packed event.  Wacka Flocka, Mos Def, Asap Rocky and Jim Jones were in the building too.

Sneaker Pimps NYC

SNEAKER PIMPS NYC, Friday, November 11..............

Last year was RA-NYC's first time at Sneaker Pimps, NYC.  This year, it's a new venue (Irving Plaza/Union Square), RA-NYC has new tees to show and there's a surprise dropping right before the show.  I won't give too many details, but stay tuned to catch it!

More details soon!

BKHF 2011

BKHF 2011 Each year, Brooklyn Bodega organizes and produces a music festival for the history books.  This year, there was an insane list of performing acts and if that wasn't enough, there are always those surprise performers that is an extra perk of being in NYC.  This year, Kanye West, Rah Digga, Busta Rhymes, Black Thought and Monie Love all made guest appearances.

The line up was....

Q-Tip, Ali Shaheed Muhammad, Diamond District, M.O.P., Kendrick Lamar, Homeboy Sandman, Random Axe, Eternia, Shad, Nitty Scott MC, LA and Gods'Illa.

With that type of lineup, it's the perfect opportunity to go and hand out promo tees to unsuspecting hip hop fans.  So that's what I did.  No booth, no fliers, nothing other than me approaching random people (that looked like they would sport a RA-NYC tee) and I gave them out.  It was a beautiful day in Brooklyn, good food (shrimp and fries), good beer (Brooklyn Brewery) and insane amounts of talent.  Throughout the day, I saw Stalley, Scienze, Rugz D Bewler, Skyzoo, Statik Selektah, Freeway and that's not even on stage!
