My name is Christopher Nelson and I’m an architect, artist and designer based in Brooklyn, NYC.  I’ve worked in the architectural industry for 20 years on a variety of building typologies.  I was born in Minneapolis, MN and raised in various parts of the Twin Cities.  The opportunity to design a house first presented itself in high school and it was my introduction to architecture.  Based on that experience, my criteria for college applications focused on the university having a Division 1 football team and an accredited architecture program.  After walking on to the University of Minnesota football team, I realized that I could not pursue architecture and play football at the same time.  Architecture studios made me realize how much I enjoyed the creative process and also how much I needed to learn so I decided to focus on architecture and declared studio arts as my minor concentration.

Hip hop, deconstruction, graffiti, abstract art, surrealism, urbanism and modernism can all be found in some form throughout my creative projects.  I’m actively painting, drawing, licensed in New York, NCARB certified and a member of the American Institute of Architects (AIA).
